On 23-26 February, initial RECP training is conducted in Batam with 29 participants from candidates National Experts, representatives of industrial park management, pilot companies, Bapedal, Industrial Agency, and BP Batam. Training materials are delivered by Rene Van Berkel, Ph.D. and Puji Lestari, Ph.D. which consisted of 6 modules and 3 exercises covering introduction into RECP and how to do initial and detailed assessment to industry. In the middle of the classroom session, all participants visited 2 industries in 2 industrial parks as part of practical training. This field session is arranged to get the sense of the participants to conduct an RECP assessment to the industry and to apply what they have learned in the class. Following the field session, on the last day of the training all participants have to deliver final presentation which describe the RECP opportunities for the companies they have visited. An exit test is given to participants as the closing to see the uptake of training materials given during the whole week, and also to sort the best candidates for trainee National Experts.
