Following to the last Training of Training (ToT) modules 1 and 2, United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO)/Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production (RECP) Programme in Indonesia organized the third ToT – Module 3 on Energy Efficiency in Bandung, 29 November-1 December 2017 and Jakarta, 4-6 December 2017. A three-day training mainly conducted by UNIDO International Expert Mr. Thomas Burki with some sessions covered by RECP Chief Technical Advisor Mr. Permod Kumar Gupta. The in-depth training aimed to further strengthen and deepen the participants’ knowledge on Energy Efficiency tools, methods and techniques focused on process and energy saving opportunity. The training also encouraged participants to be able to marketing RECP specifically on Energy Efficiency effectively before arriving at RECP options/solutions.

38 participants of textile experts, textile unit energy managers, food sector experts and industrial zone experts from Batam and Makasar, auditors, project's partners and staff attended the training in Bandung and 30 representatives from Ministry Environment and Forestry, Ministry of Industry, Indonesia Cleaner Production Center, H&M suppliers and project's staff and participating units from East and Central Java attended the training in Jakarta. During his mission in Indonesia, Mr. Thomas Burki also did energy assessment to some selected textile units participating in the project. All selected textile units were ready with the data and concerns where assistance is required. After field visit UNIDO expert would provide a report on potential energy saving potentials and technological support.

The ToT was organized within the framework of the Indonesian RECP Programme, implemented by UNIDO in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (MoEF) and Ministry of Industry (MoI), with funding support from the Government of Switzerland (SECO).
