The Centre for Textiles Bandung (CTB) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) on 5 September 2016 delivered an introductory training on Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production methods for textile and garment factories in Bandung. RECP is a profitable approach for improving the efficiency of use of materials, chemicals, water and energy, and reduction of waste, effluents and emissions.

Participating industries shared achievements in areas such as, good housekeeping, better chemical handling and optimization of steam use, whilst also appreciating the need for and benefits of comprehensive RECP approach, including use of advanced technology and safer chemicals. The training was part of the Indonesian RECP Programme, funded by the Government of Switzerland (SECO), which supports execution of RECP assessments in 15 textile and garment factories in West Java.
