Goverments, academia, association, environment proffessionals, and other stakeholders met on the 7-8 November 2016 in Bandung during the Formation Workshop for Indonesia RECP Experts Pool convened by the Indonesia Cleaner Production Center (ICPC) and the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (MoEF) with support from the RECP Programme of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) to resolve the establishment of Perhimpunan Ahli Efisiensi Sumber Daya dan Produksi Bersih Indonesia (PAESPBI/Indonesia RECP Experts Pool).

PAESPBI was established considering the importance of sustainable practice towards sustainable consumption and production, green industry, sustainable tourism, in accordance with international commitments, and related supportive national and regional policies, strategies and regulations. It highlighted the need for using natural resources more productively; and to develop, share and implement knowledge, methods and tools, practices and techniques, and policies and strategies of RECP in Indonesia, towards the goals of clean, clever and competitive business and industry in Indonesia.

Perhimpunan Ahli Efisiensi Sumber Daya dan Produksi Bersih Indonesia (PAESPBI/Indonesia RECP Experts Pool) committed to actively promote and implement resource efficient and cleaner production in Indonesia, prepare human resources that are reliable in the field of RECP and have the competency standards and apply the principles of sustainability, integrity, transparency, leadership, and accountable which can be a bridge between government, academia, businesses, associations, professionals and communities.

The experts pool affirmed the importance of industry, government and the society to use all natural resources more productively, particularly materials, water and energy, while also minimizing the generation of all wastes, including emissions and effluents, and improving the well-being of employees, consumers and society for them to be productive in order to sustainable development.
